New Bible Study: "Life Rules"

When we were in kindergarten, half the fun of living was breaking the rules without getting caught. In real adult life, however, there is nothing fun about broken promises, relationships, or hearts. In this DVD and study guide from North Point Resources, Andy Stanley explains God's set of life rules that can improve current relationships and mend broken ones. Every game requires parameters, and in this lifelong journey toward heaven, it's never too late to learn, relearn, and follow the rules God clearly outlines for His people...because they set you on the course for success! Check out the trailer below for next week's topic on "The Act of Acceptance"

"A Time And a Generation"

1 The LORD then said to Noah, "Go into the ark, you and your whole family, because I have found you righteous in this generation Genesis 7:1

The problem of sin in Noah’s time was not much different than the problem which exist today. The bible say’s that Noah was found righteous in His generation. In fact in Gen. 6:9 it say’s that Noah was blameless among the people of his time. The two words that really jumped out as I read today’s passages were “time” and “generation”. Both time and generation kind of go hand in hand but they are also different. Time is span of seconds, minutes and hours within a day, it’s a specific time in human history. Generation refers more to people, that is people of a specific time. Looking at Noah’s life I see that Noah’s life was placed in a specific time to affect a generation of people and so are we.

How do you affect the people during your time? How do you influence a generation of people? The key to Noah’s life is found in the last part of Genesis 6:9 “…and he walked with God.”
Walking with God or not walking with God affects so much in our life and around our life. Our walk with God reveals our purpose, it allows us to affect all that we encounter in life rather than life affecting you, and lastly I believe this is the main part; it allow’s our life to preserve life as Noah’s was able to. Noah not only saved the animals but his righteousness, his walk with God saved his family. So much is dependant of my daily walk with God, because so much is influenced when it is or isn’t there.

Lord I don’t want to miss my purpose to the time and to the people that you have called me to especially my family, my friends those that you have called me to lead. Influence my purpose so that I may influence other’s, touch my life that I can touch other’s, preserve my life so that I can bring preservation to other’s. Walk with me Lord.
